Choose your port »Western Mediterranean Ports
Western Mediterranean itineraries link Spain, the French Riviera and the Italian coast, often with Lisbon on longer sailings. Several of the most famous calls, including Rome and Florence, sit well inland from the pier, so transport and timing shape the day as much as the sights do.

Can I see Rome and Florence in one port day each?
You can see the highlights. The drive from Civitavecchia to Rome and from Livorno to Florence each takes roughly an hour and a half, which leaves several hours in the city. Focus on one or two areas rather than trying to cover everything.
Which Western Mediterranean ports are easy to explore on foot?
Lisbon, Naples and Villefranche put you close to the old center. In Barcelona, Marseille and Palma a short shuttle ride gets you into town.
